FORM AND ENROLL IN SACCOS, BIASHARA WARD MCA TELLS BODABODA OPERATORS

Thika Town MCA Kennedy Mwangi has advised bodaboda operators in the town to form Saccos in order to expand their business.
Speaking to bodaboda operators at Thika Town when he donated reflector jackets on yesterday, Kentams as he is popularly known said Saccos will help them access financial help needed for business expansion, open more opportunities for them apart from protecting and fighting for their trade rights.
The MCA expressed his concern that most of them had not joined nor formed any Sacco.
“It is important and also necessary for bodaboda riders to form Saccos in order to expand your business easily," he said.
The MCA said the bodaboda sector had employed thousands of youths from the area and asked the government to give them loans to so as to enable them expand their enterprises.
At the same time, the MCA asked the government to improve on the riders’ security. He said the operators had been complaining of deteriorating security and that it will be important if the security agencies look into the matter.
The MCA donated over 2,000 reflector jackets and helmets to bodaboda riders operating within the ward.
