ROGUE SECURITY FIRMS WARNED OF DE-REGISTRATION IN THIKA.

A section of Thika residents have sent an appeal to Thika police to check on rogue security gourds after several incidents of theft within their premises despite them being on a 24-hr security guard by private security firms.

Reacting to the complaint, Thika OCPD Francis Muthamia asked all security firms in his jurisdiction to thoroughly vet their employees before recruitment and eventual hiring so as to avert cases of criminals being hired as security personnel.
Speaking at Kiganjo Estate on Saturday, the police boss warned that any company whose employees will be associated with abetting crime by colluding with thugs will have their licenses confiscated.
“We will investigate the private companies that are going contrary to the security laws and revoke their licenses if need be. We will need your cooperation in getting the information,” he assured.
He added that the job of every security guard was to protect the property he had been entrusted to and should therefore be held accountable for any loss of property under his watch.
