Garbage truck driver shot six times by unknown assailant

Police are investigating an incident where a garbage truck driver was last night shot dead at the Utalii Tunnel along the Thika Superhighway.

According to eyewitness reports, the driver, who is contracted by the Kenya National Highway Authority (KenHA) to collect litter, was shot at several times by a gunman who was armed with an AK47 rifle at around 10 pm.

They say that the deceased had parked his truck there waiting for the collected litter to be filled when a salon car pulled behind his truck. A hitman then jumped out of the car, walked to where he was and shot him six times before rushing back to the car and drove off.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Police are yet to establish the motive of the attack but it seems the intention of the assailant was to eliminate the deceased.
