Body of MCA candidate, fifth to be recovered from Kijabe forest


The body of an aspiring MCA candidate has been discovered from Ngubi Forest in Lari amid investigations into the murders of people being dumped in the area.

The body of Joseph Njau Ng'endo, who was running for Njiru MCA seat in Kasarani, Nairobi is the fifth found as police link murdered youths to drugs and online scamming.

Other bodies that had earlier been discovered were those of Fred Obare, Frank Obegi, Moses Nyachae and Elijah Omeka.

They went missing on Tuesday last week in Kasarani area, Nairobi. The bodies were found in Lari, Kiambu, and in Kiserian, Kajiado. Njau went missing on June 17.

Police said they had been accused of being behind a crypto currency fraud mostly targeting victims outside the country.

A postmortem examination conducted on three other slain victims, Moses Amenya Nyachae and Franklin Obegi, and Elijah Omeka revealed that they died as a result of strangulation.

Police say that the aspiring politician had a dark past after being implicated for drug trafficking.

He was arrested back in 2019 after being found in possession of five kilograms of heroin shortly after returning to the country from Kampala Uganda. He is believed to be part of a larger heroin distribution network in Nairobi, believe he procured the narcotics from a Nigerian based in Kampala.

His body was taken to City Mortuary.
