Big weights felled in the Thika Sub-County UDA Primaries
Several big weights were felled by little known politicians in the just concluded United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party primaries that were held on Thursday.
In the final results announced at Chania Boys High School
tallyng Centre, Kennedy Mwangi (Kentams) won the Thika Township Ward, John
Njiru won Hospital Ward, Peter Mburu clinched the Kamenu UDA ticket, Jackson
Kung’u (Jakma) took Gatuanyaga as Shem Kivyatu won in Ngoliba.
In the gubernatorial race, Eng. Patrick Wainaina Wajungle garnered 6,529 votes, followed by Senator Kimani Wamatangi with 4,772
votes, Ferdinand Waititu Babayao 1,450
and Eric Mungai got 204 votes.
In the race for the next Kiambu Women Representative, Ann Wamuratha garnered 6,140 votes, followed by Loise Kim with 6,042 votes and Emma
Wangari came third with 813 votes.
There were no polls for the Member of Parliament and Senatorial
positions as Former Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a and Karungo Wa Thang’wa had
secured their UDA tickets for MP and Senator respectively unopposed.
