Preliminary results for UDA primaries in Kiambu County

Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi and Anne Wamuratha have won the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) tickets in the county's governor and Women Representative races in the just concluded primaries.

Preliminary results seen by our 3T press team indicated that Wamatangi had garnered 70,816 votes against his closest competitor Thika Town MP Eng. Patrick Wainaina who garnered 51,247 votes in 10 out of the 12 constituencies.

Results in 4 polling stations of Mwiki Ward in Ruiru Sub-County were also not included in this tally as the party had ordered for a repeat of the poll due to some disputed results by MCA aspirants. There were also no polling in some parts of Kabete Constituency due to lack polling materials.

Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was a very distant third with 13,480 votes.

Wainaina Wajungle has already disputed the results terming the exercise as a scam, stating that the UDA party favoured Wamatangi as he was close to top party officials. He further said that his name “Wajungle” was deliberately omitted from the voting materials creating confusion.

In the women Rep preliminary results seen by our 3T Team, Ann Wamuratha had garnered 70,305 votes against Loise Kim’s 56,983 votes.
