International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8 March, this day basically reflects women’s progress made in the history. Women’s are the symbol of courage, determination  and positivity  thus making them extra ordinary.

The 2016 theme for International Women’s Day is “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”, which highlights issues surrounding gender equality, women’s empowerment, women’s human rights.

We call upon men and women from Thika to pledge and take concrete steps to help achieve gender parity more quickly whether to help women and girls achieve their ambitions, call for gender-balanced leadership, respect and value difference, develop more inclusive and flexible cultures or root out workplace bias.

 Each of us can be a leader within our own spheres of influence and commit to take pragmatic action and see to it that gender parity has been accelerated.
