All what you need to know about NTSA’s new instant traffic fines system

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has introduced an Instant Fines Traffic Management System that will automatically notify motorists who violate traffic regulations through SMS alerts.

According to NTSA, the newly launched system is designed to enhance efficiency, transparency and accountability in traffic law enforcement by minimising human intervention.

Once a traffic offence is detected, the system will automatically generate a notification and send it directly to the motorist via text message where applicable.

Motorists who receive the notifications will be required to settle the fines within seven days through KCB Bank branches.

NTSA has warned that failure to pay the fine within the stipulated period will result in the amount attracting interest. In addition, motorists with pending fines will not be able to access NTSA services until the penalties are fully settled.

The authority has advised drivers to observe traffic regulations and respond promptly to any official notifications issued through the system as part of efforts to improve road safety and compliance across the country.
