Shock in Murang’a as Woman’s Body Wrapped as Parcel Taken to Police Station
A bizarre and disturbing incident unfolded in Murang’a County after a taxi driver unknowingly delivered the body of a woman, wrapped as a parcel, to Kangari Police Station.
According to reports, the driver was approached at Makomboki Centre by a man in a hoodie who requested him to transport a package to Kangari Township. The stranger assured the driver that someone would collect it upon arrival. However, once at the destination, no one came forward to claim the package.
The driver and a passenger, suspicious of its unusual weight and tight wrapping, decided to take it to Kangari Police Station for verification. Upon inspection, officers discovered the body of a woman, wrapped in blankets and paper bags.
Police later identified the deceased as Hannah Wanjiku, 53, a mother of six. Relatives revealed that she had left her matrimonial home three months earlier following allegations of gender-based violence. She had since been living in a rented house and working as a casual laborer.
Authorities have since arrested four suspects in connection with the case: the taxi driver, two of the woman’s sons, and her estranged husband. The body has been transferred to AIC Githumu Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
Investigations are ongoing as police seek to unravel the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and the motive behind the shocking attempt to conceal her body as a parcel.
