William Luta, the MKU Sports Coordinator was full of praise to the University performance acknowledging how this event was a challenge in creating compact teams after many players withdrew from the tournament due to exams that were taking place at the time of the event.

"We had to work with who is available, we had to make the last minute changes in many sports entries to allow those with exams remain at the campus to fulfill their important academic routines, but look at how marvelous the young men an women here fought it out to the last breath to deliver this good results. I saw some play through injuries, some with tears and it tells you the passion these players exhibit and the pride they have in representing their University, We have also picked up important lessons that we need to invest in individual games by offering sports related scholarships if we need to compete effectively like the top three podium finishers," he said.

The East Africa games took place at Maseno University from the 15th to 21st December 2024.
