Over 23,000 students receive KES. 90 million in bursaries

Kiambu County Government today disbursed Ksh. 90 million as part of the bursary fund to 23,855 needy students from across the county.

The second batch to be disbursed in the current financial year, targets university, vocational and secondary school students with some getting full scholarships.

Governor James Nyoro noted that the number of needy students was quite high, and that was why the county went through the process vigorously to ensure fairness and transparency.

Nyoro said that the county is in the process of establishing Kiambu Education Fund, a kitty that will be funded by well-wishers and educationists and will be managed by a task force formed under the Governor’s office.
