10 suspects netted in early morning police raid

Police in Juja on Thursday rounded up 10 suspects in a major crackdown to subdue criminals masquerading as touts and bodaboda operators in Witeithie Division.

According to Juja DCC Charles Muriithi, the suspects were netted at Witeithie Stage and held at Witeithie Police Station pending arraignment.

The operation comes in the wake of complaints by members of the public who have fallen prey to criminal activities by thugs disguising as touts or bodaboda operators.

Residents who talked to Thika Town Today - 3T hailed the action, and stressing that it was long overdue. They added that illegal liquor outlets had also become the launching pads for these criminals as they provided good hideouts.

The DCC directed his officers on the ground to submit daily reports regarding the swoop until the area was crime free.
