Thika Cloth Mills turn to masks to keep afloat COVID-19 economic plunge

Thika Cloths Mills, a leading school uniform and fabrics for the uniformed service manufacturer in the country, has been forced by the COVID-19 socio-economic plunge to turn into the mass production of face masks, whose market is slowly dwindling due to over flooding.

This has led to the company temporarily send home some 700 workers though on paid leave as they wait for the situation to improve.

TCM CEO Tejal Dhothia adds that the containment of the Nairobi metropolis has frozen their market and reduced demand of their materials.
