Sun Veat donates food worth KES. 500,000 to 400 families in Thika
Sun Veat Food (K) Ltd. in partnership with Building Lives Foundation, have today distributed food hampers, soap and face masks worth KES. ½ million to 400 needy families in Thika.
Among the beneficiaries included persons living with disabilities, persons living with HIV-AIDS, young mothers and several people who recently lost their jobs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the company's grounds during the distribution, MD Vishal said that as a company, they were also targeting to distribute over 20,000 masks countrywide valued at KES. 1 million.
Municipality ACC Lazarus Obuar cautioned the beneficiaries against selling or misusing the donations adding that the food could last them for about 2 weeks if well utilised.
Thika District Business Association (TDBA) Chairman Alfred Wanyoike thanked the Thika business community for their continued support to the needy persons during these tough times.
Wanyoike appealed for more donations, noting that the situation was being worsened by the continued loss of jobs over the pandemic.
