Brace for dry taps tomorrow as THIWASCO announces shutdown.
Thika and its environs will be without water tomorrow after
the Thika Water and Sewerage Company (THIWASCO) announced it will shut down their
treatment plant due to a scheduled maintenance.
The water agency announced that the disruption of water
supply to the town and its environs will start on Tuesday June 6 2017 and go
for approximately 24 hours starting at 8am.
“We regret to inform all our esteemed customers that we
shall be undertaking system maintenance of our treatment works on Tuesday June 6th
2017 for approximately 24 hours starting at 8am,” read part of a statement by
THIWASCO Management.
They hope to resume normal services on Wednesday morning.
Thika residents have therefore been requested to store enough
water for use during the period of the shut down and use the same cautiously.
