A new TV station set to take over Thika.
Thika-based Focus Kenya Media has launched a free-to-air channel that is expected to air content touching on human interest,entrepreneurship, social ,religious issues affecting Kenyans as well as shows for youth, children and women among others.
The new media outfit is expected to compete with the current large market shareholders by exploiting a niche that has hitherto been untapped especially within the Thika region.
Focus TV Weyulla David Head of TV said the TV will champion the issues affecting common Kenyans in order to contribute positively to the socioeconomic development of the country.
"We are thrilled to see that Focus Tv has been launched in the month of June which has alot of significance to our country, it symbolizes the break of a new dawn and we are here to break into a new market, as well as create employment opportunities," said David.
The channel will initially broadcast in Thika and surrounding areas and the signal will be available through digital television decoders including Star Times,Go TV, ADN and other free to air decoders.
"We want to bring fresh content to the market, more like inverting the pyramid in the sense that we want to have more human stories aired, as well as offer opportunity an equal opportunity for advertisers," said David.
Kenyan content on the channel includes Mziki Mnene, Kikaangiyo cha Siasa, Kilele, Fit Up Show among others.
