Michael Mutinda and Michael Luvutsi stood at the heart of midfield while Mwinyi Kibwana and Salim marshalled the attacking lines to find Kennedy Otieno upfront. The first half ending 3 – 0 courtesy of Otieno and Salim (brace) strikes.

The second half team saw Joram Wafula start in goal while former Passenga High Captain Patrick Kimani combined with Vincent Nyaberi at the back with Simon Ngotho and Chris Oruchum playing as a number two and three in that order. Saad Musa, Baraka Bad and Ugandan Samuel Mwanje were the men at the middle of the park with Anthony Gathu, Timothy Ludda, Ray Omondi and Mukangula also getting a starting berth. Former City Stars man Victor Ashinga was among the substitutes in the game.

Fourth goal

Mukangula scored the fourth goal in the dying moments from a well converted set-piece at the edge of the box after Saad Musa had been brought down whilst attempting to wriggle past Mumbi defenders.

In an interview, Irungu was pleased with how his charges are reacting to preseason programme and hopes for a better 2016 season.

“This is so far our second week in training and as it looks, fitness levels and general plan is not bad of. We are well equipped after a few players left the side because as you know this is football and life has to move on. We intend to do much better when the season kicks off than we did last season,” he told Soka.
