NGOGOYO 237 FAMILY CALLS ON THIKA TO UNITE AND INVEST IN THE SOCIETY.

Ngogoyo 237 Sacco on Friday 1st January 2016 appealed to Thika residents to unite and invest in order to build a cohesive and economically stable society adding that a community that spoke and worked in unity had the potential to move very far in growth and in other social aspects of life.

Speaking at the Thika G.K. Prisons when they donated bread and tea to the inmates, Ngogoyo Sacco Chairperson Mr. Fredrick Giturwa (Kinyambi 1960), said that working together towards the same financial goal created strong bonds that would lead to greater opportunities for themselves. He added that being in such groups, members had the advantage of being educated on financial matters, learning prudent handling of money, how to keep track of finances and also how to budget.

It was for this reason that he encouraged Thika residents to invest in Ngogoyo 237 Sacco which was fully owned and ran by residents of Thika Town. With as little as sh.1,500, one was guaranteed of membership where they were at liberty to save as little as sh.1,000 per month. Upon diligently meeting ones obligations as a member for a period of six consecutive months, every member was qualified for a loan of up to thrice their savings.

Due to their open door policy, transparency and total accountability the group has in the short time that it has been in existence, been able to attract so many members who were drawn from all walks of life. He therefore encouraged those who were outside the bandwagon to take advantage of this limited offer to join and guarantee themselves

Otherwise, he thanked all those Ngogoyo members who donated their time and money within that very short notice. He specially thanked, in absentia, Mr. George Muritu Gathecha, a Thika Town Constituency Aspirant, who donated loaves of bread worth sh.10,000 and Hospital Ward 2017 Aspirant Mr. Paulo Wanjohi who contributed about sh 10,000 towards the purchase of the milk, juice and the television set.

Mr. Kinyambi was flanked by his able deputy, Mr. Onesmas, members Ndung'u Ndung'u, Samson Njau and Susan among others.

On behalf of the team, Mr. Paulo Wanjohi promised Thika residents that he and the Ngogoyo team would work to see that they made Thika a better place. He said that they will continue doing acts like that so as those who were less privileged got at least to enjoy like the rest of us. He also volunteered to bail out three women prisoners and ensure that with time he came up with programmes that would empower the youth and women of Thika so as to keep them away from crime.
