KENYATTA HIGHWAY (PART I)- Is There Some Light At The End Of The Tunnel? (PHOTOS)
KENYATTA HIGHWAY MUNENE-PILOT STRETCH AS AT 27th JAN 2017
A visit to the site by the Thika Town Today crew saw that they have already done a few metres of tarmac that has now eased the traffic along that stretch of the road. The contractor is also busy doing the drainage, a factor that has been a pain in the neck for motorists plying that route.
Speaking on behalf of Thika Town MP Madam Alice Ng'ang'a during last year's Mashujaa Day, Eng. Kang'ethe Mwangi said that
he had been personally assessing the progress of the works on a daily
basis and was satisfied with the quality of the work done so far. He
noted that they won't allow to be rushed into doing a shoddy job,
promising that upon completion, it will have a lifespan of about 20
years.
The less than 1km section of the road stretching from Munene Industries
Ltd to the UTI junction, has been in construction for the last eight
months, costing the taxpayer, a cool Ksh.60 million.
Motorists have been complaining about the delay of that road that has been causing a lot of traffic jams. The delays have been causing them great losses in time and money.
