Ksh.16m has also been set aside to improve on its general outlook.
Part of this money has been allocated for the replacement and disposal
of its old asbestos roofs which are known to cause cancer.
The
improvement of these facilities is meant to ease congestion within the
various units of the institution as well as improving the working
conditions of its staff. This will eventually trickle down to enhancing
service delivery and increasing the scope of its services. Recently, the
hospital managed to get its first skin specialist.
Thika
Level 5 Hospital plays hosts to patients from Thika Sub-County along
with the neighbouring counties Murang'a, Gatundu Sub-County, Ukambani
and Nairobi due to its proximity.
