KIAMBU BIASHARA FUND TO INCLUDE WOMEN, KABOGO
Governor William Kabogo has said
the Kiambu County Youth Biashara Fund Act will be amended to
include women. Speaking to women groups in Ngoingwa, Thika today, Kabogo said
women also need their own fund for self-development adding that Sh300 million
have already been set aside for the purpose.
"Biashara Fund has been very
successful since its launch last year and we have seen that youths have been
able to utilise it well. This is why we want to extend the fund to women
groups," said Kabogo.
He said women will be allowed to
take soft loans for income generating activities to be able to enjoy financial
independence.
"This will help you complement
what you have been getting from the national government's Women and Uwezo Fund
and without doubt, no woman will go begging for money from anybody," he
said.
The governor asked the women to tap
in the entrepreneurial ideas being flown around free of charge in various
forums including the media during this Global Entrepreneurship Summit weekend.
