Thika Town Residents Invited to this week's NG-CDF Public Participation Forums

Residents of Thika Town Constituency have been invited to participate in a series of public participation forums organised by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) to help identify and prioritise development projects for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 financial years.

According to a public notice issued by the Thika Town NG-CDF Office, the exercise will be conducted across all five wards over three days, giving residents an opportunity to present, discuss and propose projects they believe should be implemented in their respective communities.

The public participation forums will begin on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in Ngoliba Ward, where residents will meet at Magogoni Chief's Ground from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Later that afternoon, the exercise will move to Gatuanyaga Ward, with a forum scheduled at the PCEA Church Grounds from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On Thursday, July 2, residents of Kamenu Ward will have two opportunities to participate. The first session will take place at the Kisii Chief's Office from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a second meeting at the Kimuchu Chief's Office from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to ensure wider participation across the ward.

The exercise will conclude on Friday, July 3, with Hospital Ward residents meeting at the Community Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, before the final forum is held for Township Ward residents at the Senior Chief's Office in Biashara from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Thika Town NG-CDF Office has urged residents from all the respective wards to attend the forums and actively contribute ideas that will help shape the constituency's development agenda over the next two financial years.

"These forums are open to all members of the public. We encourage residents to attend, share their views and help identify priority projects for their communities," the notice states.

The public participation exercise is part of the NG-CDF planning process, which seeks to ensure development projects are informed by the needs and priorities of local communities before the final project list is prepared for implementation.
