Police in Kirinyaga County have launched a manhunt following the mysterious death of a businessman who was found lifeless inside his car in what authorities suspect to be a drink-spiking, commonly known as “mchele,” incident.
According to preliminary reports, the man is believed to have met his attackers shortly before his death. Residents who were near the scene told police that they noticed a woman hastily leaving the area moments before the vehicle was discovered, raising suspicions about her possible involvement.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the quiet locality, with locals expressing concern over the rising cases of drink-spiking crimes that have been reported in various parts of the country. Police officers who arrived at the scene secured the area and began investigations, treating the case as suspicious.
The body of the deceased was moved to a nearby mortuary pending a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have urged members of the public with any information that could help identify and locate the woman seen fleeing to come forward.
