KDF Muslim Personnel Donate Iftar Food to Thika Main Prison Inmates

Muslim service personnel from the Kenya Army based at Thika Barracks have donated assorted food items to inmates at Thika Main Prison to support them during the holy month of Ramadan.

The donation, meant to assist with iftar meals, the evening meal taken to break the fast, was handed over to the Deputy Officer in Charge of Thika Main Prison, Superintendent Julius Muli.

Receiving the items, Superintendent Muli thanked the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) team from the Engineers Brigade for their thoughtful gesture.

“We appreciate the support from the KDF personnel, especially during this holy month of fasting. This act of kindness means a lot to the inmates,” he said.

During the visit, the KDF Muslim leadership took time to encourage the inmates, urging them to remain patient and steadfast as they observe their fast. They emphasised the importance of perseverance, hope and faith, noting that Ramadan is a time for reflection, spiritual growth and renewal.

The officers explained that the donation was part of a wider outreach program by Muslim service personnel at Thika Barracks. The initiative aims to support and uplift vulnerable members of the community, particularly during significant religious seasons.

The gesture brought a sense of solidarity and compassion to the inmates, highlighting the spirit of giving and community support that defines the holy month of Ramadan.
