Thika Town Member of Parliament Alice Wambui Ng’ang’a has issued a strong rallying call to fellow leaders and constituents, urging them to embrace a results-oriented approach to leadership and development.
Speaking passionately in her native Kikuyu dialect during a recent public engagement, the MP declared: “Nĩ ihinda rĩa kuona na kũhutia,” which loosely translates to “It’s time to show and prove.”
Her message was clear: the era of empty promises is over. The time has come for leaders to show tangible results and for the people to actively participate in holding them accountable.
“This is not the time for talk. This is the time to show what we have done, and what we are doing for our people,” she said, drawing strong applause from the crowd.
MP Ng’ang’a emphasized the importance of visible progress in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, and healthcare. She noted that real change is felt on the ground, not just heard in speeches.
The phrase “kuona na kũhutia” has since resonated widely across local social media platforms, symbolizing a growing desire for accountable and people-centered leadership.
As the country gears toward a more engaged civic environment, leaders like Alice Ng’ang’a are setting the tone for what the next chapter of grassroots leadership should look like action over words.
