Empowerment Programs Will Continue Despite Criticism - Deputy President Kindiki

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reaffirmed the government's commitment to economic empowerment initiatives targeting youth, women, and vulnerable groups, stating that no amount of political noise or criticism will derail the ongoing programs.

Speaking on Sunday during a high-profile empowerment event in Thika Town Constituency, DP Kindiki emphasized that the efforts were not politically motivated, but rather a sincere intervention aimed at improving the lives of those at the bottom of the economic pyramid.

“This is not about buying political support. It is about restoring dignity, promoting self-reliance, and giving every Kenyan a fair chance to succeed,” said the Deputy President. He challenged critics to focus their energies on supporting and creating tangible opportunities for the less privileged instead of casting doubt on noble initiatives.

During the event, hundreds of beneficiaries received tools and equipment to boost their livelihoods, including motorbikes, washing machines, sewing machines, pool tables, and public address systems. These items were distributed to youth groups, women’s organizations, and individuals as part of the government’s broader Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a expressed her gratitude to President William Ruto and the Deputy President for their continued support to her constituents. She also urged the national government to prioritize the completion of stalled and ongoing infrastructure and development projects in the area.

Silvanus Osoro, Members of Parliament, Members of County Assembly, and other local leaders.

The event reinforced the administration’s message that economic empowerment remains a key pillar in transforming the lives of ordinary Kenyans.
