ALARMING!!! Thika, Juja lead in Kiambu Cholera cases

 

CHOLERA STATS IN KIAMBU COUNTY AS AT 19TH DEC. 2022

- The outbreak was first reported on 10th October 2022 from a wedding in Limuru Sub County.

- Of the 241 cases reported, Juja leads with 62 cases, followed by Thika (59), Ruiru (26), Kabete (25), Githunguri (15), Kiambaa (14), Limuru (11), Kiambu town (9), Kikuyu (3), Gatundu South (3), Gatundu North (2), Lari (2) and Unknown (2)

- Of the 241 cases, 14 patients are currently admitted in hospital as follows:- Kiambu L.5 (1), Thika L.5 (8) Kalimoni Mission - Juja (1) and Ruiru L.4 (4).

- Fifteen (15) new cases of Cholera have been reported in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of cases line listed in Kiambu County to 241 cases as of 19th December 2022 as follows:- Ruiru (0), Juja (5), Githunguri (6), Thika town (3) and Kiambu town (1).

THIKA STATS

- The outbreak on cholera was first reported in Thika Sub-County on 10th October 2022 after a wedding function in Limuru sub county, 5 cases were reported from the said wedding though they were not tested but were epidemiologically linked with those that attended the wedding.

- 2 deaths have been reported from Komo village, Munyu of two brothers who died at Thika Level Five Hospital after consuming dead fish that was cooked in a food kiosk in Komo shopping centre.

- Of the 59 cases reported the distribution is as follows:
