Kamenu Ward leads as Thika registers very low voter turnout

As the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) closed the January-February 2022 voter registration exercise on Sunday, Thika Town Constituency registered very low turnout with only 8,845 new voters out of the target of 34,357. This translates to 25.47% of the targeted number of new voters.

 KAMENU WARD led with 2,821 voters, representing 20.21% of the targeted number.

 TOWNSHIP WARD came second with 2,696 voters (33.77%), HOSPITAL 1,836 (25.46%), GATUANYAGA 1,122 (37.78%) and NGOLIBA with 370 (16.54%).

 IEBC listed 1,031,645 new voters in the second phase of the national voter registration exercise that ended on February 06.
