Thika-based online news channel Thika Town Today – 3T and it’s sister YouTube Channel 3T TV were over the weekend awarded special recognition at the Diamond Business Gala & Awards held at Safari Park Hotel for their efforts to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The Awards ceremony organised by Poise Business Development Consulting Limited (PBDC) recognised SMEs that made great strides over the year and those which withstood the COVID-19 pandemic storm. Others recognised were companies and entities that supported small businesses during that period through financial and intellectual support as well as through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

3T and 3T TV were regognised for going out of their way to support SMEs within Thika region through offering free online publicity. The team has a business segment on their YouTube Channel dubbed “HUSTLE YANGU” where they highlight various business enterprises.

PBDC CEO Dr. Naomi Kagone acknowledged such efforts noting that SMEs faced an uphill task in branding and making themselves known to their potential customers thus, programmes such as HUSTLE YANGU played a very big role in their brand awareness.

The award certificate was received on the group’s behalf by their team leader James Ng’ang’a who is popularly known on the social media circles as Jaymo Wa Thika.

Thogithi Hand-made, a community-based impact project that is based in Nyahururu emerged the event’s  overall winner.
