2 brothers arrested in connection to a robbery incident where sh. 5m shoes were stolen.
Police in Ruiru have arrested two brothers in connection to a robbery incident that occurred on Friday night at a factory in Thika.
The duo were arrested at a wooden house belonging to a caretaker in Kihunguro area following a tip off from the members of public.
During the raid, goods worth over sh. 5 million that had been stolen from Leather Industries Limited in Thika were recovered.
"We have managed to recover 128 cartons of assorted shoes worth sh 4.5 million, destroyed CCTV cameras, servers and cables, computers and laptop chargers all worth about sh. 1 million," explained Kiambu police county commander Ali Nuro
According to Nuro, the incident happened at around 8pm when a gang of about 20 robbers waylaid the company's guards and tied them with ropes before gaining entry into the store and stole the shoes.
The police have also recovered two vehicles, one bearing a fake GK number plate, two trolleys bearing GK numbers, a broken cash safe suspected to have been stolen in a different incident and some crude weapons that are believed to have been used in this robbery.
The two suspects are assisting the police with investigations.
