KIGANJO RESIDENTS COMPLAIN OF INSECURITY ESPECIALLY NEAR CORNER 2
Kiganjo residents are appealing to
the police to investigate and arrest a gang of young men who have been terrorising them at night especially near Corner 2. These robbers are said to be pouncing on unsuspecting members of public everytime the police patrol moves to other locations or when they leave the area. They are said to be targeting electronics and other valuables in possession of their victims. They are alleged to be very dangerous since they are ready to kill in case the victims resist the robbery.
John Muga, the area Nyumba Kumi official, said that he too had been a victim. Speaking in a security meeting held in Kianjau, on Saturday morning, he said that there was need to educate the public on how to deal with criminal incidences as some of them do know where to report after attacks. He lamented of police laxity saying that they never took the residents' cries for help seriously.
However, the officer in charge of Kiganjo Police Post Inspector Richard Kasee said that the police are probing the matter and they will make arrests in partnership with the public and community policing.
“We have received complaints from you officially now and we are going to make an arrests soon. I am sending a message to the criminals to retreat before we get them because we will not relent in providing security for our residents,” the officer said.
He accused the residents of being reluctant in forwarding relevant information to the police.
