IS MATTEO DARMIAN THE 2nd UNITED SIGNING?
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has confirmed Torino defender, Matteo Darmian, will have a medical ahead of a £12.9m move.
The 25-year old is expected to become the Red Devil’s second signing of the summer after Dutch winger Memphis Depay.
Speaking to the media during the official unveiling of Depay, Van Gaal also confirmed that striker Robin van Persie is headed out of the club with Turkish outfit, Fenerbahce leading the race for his signature.
Van Gall said "When we feel we can say that he (Van Persie) is going, we will. We don't have that feeling yet."
On general transfers, he added: "I said at the end of the season that buying and selling players is a process. The process lasts until 1 September.
"I find it ridiculous the transfer period is so long. I have said that many times. But we are on track."
Meanwhile, Matteo, who has penned an emotional farewell letter to Torino fans, says joining United is a dream come true.
"I'm very excited, we'll face this new adventure," Darmian told gianlucadimarzio.com
"It's a dream. I'm superstitious so I won't say anything until the signatures, let's wait. I say thank you to Torino and their fans who have been great these years."
