PS Maringa, Gov. Nyoro commission the construction of Juja Farm Road


Infrastructure PS Prof. Paul Mwangi Maringa and Kiambu Governor Dr. James Nyoro have today commissioned the construction of the 6Km Juja Farm road in Kalimoni Ward, Juja Sub-County.

In the first phase of the project, the road will stretch all the way to Mastoo area. The road is a major by-pass through Ma-Store, Athi, and Gatuanyaga in Thika and has been a perennial headache for the residents of Juja Farm estates.

Prof. Maringa said that the second phase of the project that is poised to commence in June next year will cost Ksh. 3.9 billion to cross over to Gatuanyaga in Thika East.

The PS added that it was critical to develop infrastructure that could enhance connectivity within Kiambu County, bearing in mind the growing population and which was necessary for the county to fully exploit its potential.

Gov. Nyoro expressed great appreciation to the National Government for the commencement of the road project that will prove a great benefit to the residents of Kalimoni.
He promised to complement the construction of this major road by installing solar street lights along the road among other development projects such as water reticulation that are ongoing in Kalimoni Ward.

The road, the first tarmac road within Juja Farm, will be a milestone and a relief for the residents who over the years have fought for the road under the umbrella of "Juja Farm Road Lobby Group."
