1. DIGITAL SUB-EDITOR (INOORO TV)

Royal Media Services Limited is seeking to recruit a highly qualified person for the above position. The job holder will be responsible for the creation of wholesome social and digital media content for Inooro TV across all platforms. He/she will promote all online and traditional platforms in a bid to grow the company’s market share & maximize revenue.

 The Digital Sub-Editor (Inooro TV) role will include the following:-

·         Revising raw scripts from reporters and correspondents, converting them into content for online consumption (web and social media), updating the Inooro TV site.

·         Dissemination of news content, covering live events and promotion of special features

·         Cross-promote the company’s online & traditional product line

·         Conceptualize and execute online campaigns for various projects

·         Ensure all social media platforms are updated regularly

·         Advise supervisor on new trends in online tools, applications, channels, design & strategy

·         Liaise with digital sales officers to create campaigns that can be commercialized

·         Execute & monitor clients’ social media communication campaigns and monitoring revenue

·         Monitor campaign feedback & adjust or augment campaigns accordingly

·         Training, mentoring and coaching Inooro TV staff on use of social media

·         Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure that Inooro TV’s website is current and well maintained

·         Quality control, responding to audience feedback and generating reports on market intelligence

Skills and Personal Attributes

·         Must have excellent communication and writing skills. Training in journalism will be a clear advantage.

·         Ability to read, write and edit digital content in English, Swahili and Kikuyu  

·         Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Google+ YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.

·         Demonstrates winning Social Customer Service techniques. Possesses great ability to identify potential negative or crisis situation and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues

·         Must have strong analytical skills, social media savvy, innovative and creative

·         Understands Media Law and Media Ethics

·         Must be self-driven, assertive, punctual and organized

·         Must be a team player, dynamic and able to work under demanding circumstances

·         The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of online technology and online news best practices and an appreciation of the business processes, protocols and controls

·         Demonstrate professional approach and appearance including enthusiasm, drive, commitment, honesty, trust and loyalty

·         Keep abreast of evolving trends through continuing professional education in the area of digital platforms

Academic and professional Experience

·         University Graduate in Communication, Media, Public Relations or a related field from a recognized University. Must have certification in computer studies.

·         Over 2 years experience working either as a journalist, marketer or a public relations officer in a media house; one of which must be in online journalism.

·         Experience in writing and or editing content in Kikuyu will be a clear advantage.

4. ICT SERVICE DELIVERY MANAGER

Royal Media Services Limited is the leading media house in Eastern Africa. It is home to award winning talent and products. To strengthen our position and align our products with emerging tecchnolgoy trends, we are looking for a suitably qualified person to fill the above position. 

Position roles and responsibilities

Reporting to the Deputy Director ICT, the role requires a good understanding of the Media ICT & business landscape, the ability to see the big picture in terms of ICT Industry and effects of regulatory requirements within the industry.  Able to implement high level of IT structure and processes, lead ICT division so as to inspire the greater organization to see IT as a value driver for our core business.  Be able to present ICT business case proposals to senior management and be responsible for the delivery of ICT projects from conception to project delivery.
·         Work closely with management to ensure that ICT is aligned to the organization’s strategic plan

·         Lead teams in support, infrastructure, network, storage, security, risk management and system administration

·         Responsible for the design, evaluation and support of the ICT infrastructure and is responsible for overseeing the provision of ICT services to the  whole organization

·         Lead cross functional teams related to ICT initiatives

·         Initiate and contribute to ICT policy for the organization by way of modern ICT policy documentation

·         Maintain required ICT service performance levels so as to achieve organizational objectives and provide adequate performance records for review by the senior management

·         Provide stability in the organization for Storage, Network infrastructure, Disaster Management and required software programs used by the organization

·         Identify emerging user needs and plan for new systems or changes to existing systems to meet user needs.

·         Evaluate new technologies for their potential application to business processes

·         Manage IT Vendors and ensure that the organization receives value for money for equipment and services

 Academic qualifications, experience and other attributes
·         Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline

·         Minimum 8 years of relevant experience at corporate institutions at similar roles

·         Demonstrated strong  ICT project management skills relevant certification will be  a plus

·         Possess strong knowledge in Data centre management, IT Infrastructure & Telecommunication with good people management skills to work along with internal & external teams including the ability to communication at all business levels.

·         Be technically-minded to aid in management decisions on the technical aspect of the business with a background preferably in the Media Industry.

·         Strong understanding of general network technologies (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Proxy, SSL, PKI etc), in addition to knowledge on various network security technologies e.g. Firewall, Web Filtering, Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing etc.

·         Certifications in Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD) Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCDA) or other equivalent and recognized qualifications

·         Must have good understanding of user environment management, including desktops/laptops, profile management, software delivery, etc.

·         Must have a good familiarity with other IT Infrastructure technologies like network attached storage , WAN acceleration devices, virtualization, and data warehouse

·         Ability to manage time effectively to achieve the defined tasks within the deadlines set by the business

·         Experience in managing Operations, performance reviews, team building and training

·         An entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrated technology savvy acumen with a clear ability to deliver desired results

·         Leadership and managerial skills to lead a sizeable team and nurture and retain talent while managing performance for corporate and team growth

·         Enthusiasm for working in collaborative, cross-functional teams

·         Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to translate user and business needs into clearly defined requirements and explain them to cross functional teams

·         Comfortable juggling multiple projects and helping stakeholders prioritise

·         Willingness to innovate, explore new ideas and acquire new skills
