President Ruto, Kiambu leaders eulogise Hon. Ezra
President William Ruto has led various leaders to eulogise Kiambu Nominated MCA Ezra Kabuga Kihara has passed on early Sunday morning in a grisly road accident near Mang’u High School.
While condoling with the family of the deceased, President
Ruto hailed his outstanding leadership capabilities and his contribution as a nominated
MCA which he said will be dearly missed.
“We are saddened by the loss of Hon. Ezra Kihara, Nominated
MCA at the Kiambu County Assembly. He was a dedicated and loyal member of UDA.
His skills in party politics were exemplary, and he played a crucial role as
the Kiambu County returning officer during the party primaries in 2022,” Ruto wrote
on his X account.
“Recently, he was picked as a member of the UDA National
Elections Board technical team for grassroots elections,” he added.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said he was saddened by the sad news, recalling that they had a very fruitful day with the deceased yesterday (Saturday).
“I extend my deepest condolences to Hon. Ezra, Kiambu MCA, who tragically lost his life in a road accident this morning. Hon. Kihara was a brilliant, prolific and promising young leader, whose focus was serving the People and the Nation, Kenya. It was only yesterday that I had fruitful discussions with him, during a meeting with fellow County MCAs when they called on me for an update on the progress of the Alcoholic Drinks Control Bill, 2024,” Gachagua said at Thika PEFA Cathedral where he attended a church service.
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi hailed Ezra as a
"vibrant and promising young leader whose commitment and passion for
serving the people of Kiambu was evident in every aspect of his work.

“It was with a deep sense of loss that I received the sad
news of the death of nominated Member of County Assembly Hon. Ezra Kabuga
Kihara. Hon. Kabuga was a vibrant and promising young leader, whose commitment
and passion for serving the people of Kiambu was evident in every aspect of his
work,” he wrote.
“His work in the County Assembly and in Kiambu will be
remembered as proof of his commitment to making a difference. He was a friendly
and kind person, always driven to improve the lives of those around him. It is
heartbreaking to lose such a young, dedicated legislator with so much promise
for the future.”
Others who eulogised the fallen county legislator include Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thang'wa, Kiambu
Woman Rep. Anne Wamuratha, MPs Alice Ng’ang’a (Thika Town) and Gathoni
Wamuchomba (Githunguri), MCAs John Njiru (Hospital Ward Thika), Kennedy Mwangi
Kentams (Township), Peter Mburu (Kamenu) and Susan Mburu (Nominated).
The body of the deceased was moved to the Montezuma Funeral
Home, awaiting postmortem with police launching investigations to establish the
cause of the accident.
