WHAT YOU MIGHT NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RIGATHI GACHAGUA

Rigathi Gachagua was born in Ruguru village in 1965. He attended Kabiruini Primary School 1971-1977 and later joined Kianyaga Boys High School 1978-1981 for his secondary school education. 

In 1983, he went back to Kianyaga High School for A levels before joining the University of Nairobi in 1985 where he graduated in 1988 with Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.

- Holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science & Literature from Nairobi University.

-         -  Trained in Paramilitary at the Administration Police Institute (1990)

-          - Served as an Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs & National Heritage (1989-1990)

-          - Was Personal Assistant to the Head of Public Service (1991-1993)

-          - Was Kakamega District Officer (D.O.) (1995-1996)

-          - Was Laikipia D.O. (1997-1999)

            - Was Personal Assistant to the then Local Government Minister, Uhuru Kenyatta (2001-2006)

-          - Member of Parliament (M.P.) – Mathira Constituency since 2017
