MCA, 4 others, detained for 10 days over murder.

Githobokoini MCA in Gatundu North Constituency Samuel Njenga has been detained for 10 days by a Thika court over the murder of a 45-year old Gerald Gachugu Gichuhi. 

Njenga, his girlfriend Julia Wambui Macharia and three others; Stephen Macharia Njeri, Alex Njihia Gathuri and Elizabeth Nyambura Macharia, appeared before Thika Senior Resident Magistrate Margret Kurumbu on Thursday and were charged with killing Gichuhi by hitting him with a blunt object on the forehead on Tuesday 10th May 2022.

Gichuhi, who happens to be Wambui's ex-boyfriend, was injured at Njenga’s Residence at West View Estate within Juja Sub-County. 

The accused were together at the home of the MCA during which a disagreement ensued, that resulted in a serious confrontation that saw the deceased hit on the forehead,

He died while undergoing treatment at Thika Level 5 Hospital.

The accused did not take plea after the investigating officer, Mr Evans Kipter, pleaded with the court to allow him more time to investigate.

The deceased's body is lying at the General Kago Funeral Home in Thika.
