Thika police boss promises action over murdered Thika businesslady

Thika West Sub-County Police Commander Daniel Kinyua has promised the family of the slain Thika business lady, Lucy Njambi that the police will leave no stone unturned until her murderer was brought to book to answer for his heinous act.

Speaking from 3T TV on Friday afternoon, Kinyua said that the suspect, who is well known to Thika residents, escaped immediately after stabbing his estranged girlfriend inside her rented apartment at Thika’s Section 2 estate on Thursday night.

“The suspect waylaid the deceased at her rented house and stabbed her to death before speeding off with his car. The night guard noticed some commotions but by the time he found out what had actually happened, the assailant had already gone. He raised alarm to alert the neighbours who rushed the victim to Thika Level 5 Hospital. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on arrival,” explained Kinyua.

He promised to do everything possible to apprehend the suspect and arraign him to answer for murder charges.

The family of 27-year old M-PESA agent are calling on the government to do everything possible to ensure the suspect was apprehended and made to answer for his crime. They expressed their fears that the suspect would use his influence to subvert justice as they alleged that he was very “well connected”.

They described Njambi as a very friendly and industrious lady whose death was a big blow, not only to the family but also to so many people she served.

The two have been having issues in their relationship and latest attempts to reconcile them were yet to bear any fruits.

Njambi had built so much trust with clients to a point that they trusted her with hefty cash deposits without a second thought.
