A Section of Thika-Garissa Highway to be closed for 2 months
Motorists using Thika-Garissa Highway will experience traffic disruptions for the next 2 months after the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced the closure of a section of the road effective today January, Wednesday, 19.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, January 18, KeNHA advised
motorists to expect traffic disruptions on the busy road, stating that it
plans to close part of this road due to the ongoing construction at Kathuluni
River.
"KeNHA, in pursuant to the Traffic Act Cap. 403
Section 71, wishes to notify the general public that a section of Thika-Garissa
(A3) Road will be closed due to the ongoing construction of a Box Culvert at
(KM 56+000) Kathuluni River (Kwa Majini)," the statement read in part.
The construction works will result in the closure of
the main road from Wednesday, January 19, to Tuesday, April 5.
Drivers have therefore been advised to approach the
area with caution and follow the traffic management plan issued by
the traffic marshals on site.
