Thika-based company to put up a Sh. 1.9B plant, create more jobs.

Blue Nile Rolling Mills plans to put up a new production line at a cost of sh. 1.9 billion in Thika.

The additional high-speed wire galvanized plant (32 line) will have an installed capacity of 30,000 metric tons per annum.

This was revealed by the end of the week during a visit by Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Industry Peter Munya and Kiambu Deputy Governor Dr. James Nyoro.

The completion of the plant will result to increased job opportunities, transfer of skills and knowledge, support to women entrepreneurs in Kiambu by training them in chain link production in their homes to enhance their incomes.

The Thika-based steel manufacturing multi billion company currently creates over 1000 job opportunities.

Dr. Nyoro reiterated his county’s commitment to encourage more investments in and ensure that Thika becomes the real industrial town in Kiambu and Kenya at large.
