The body of a middle-aged man found dumped near Mang'u High School.

The body of a middle-aged man was this morning found dumped near the Mang'u High School footbridge; just a few metres off Thika superhighway in Witeithie ward Juja.

According to the first people on the scene, the deceased had multiple knife stab injuries on his head and face and had his head wrapped in a plastic polythene bag probably to suffocate him to death.

"His hands were also tied from behind and had a rope around his neck, a sign that he might also have been strangled to death," explained one of the residents.

Confirming the incident, Juja OCPD Dorothy Migarusha said that it seems the murder was committed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene.

She said investigations were underway to unearth circumstances behind the heinous act.

Residents complained of a surge in insecurity incidents citing this one as the third in a span of two weeks.

"About for days ago, a decapitated body of a middle-aged woman was collected at the railway bridge under similar circumstances. Another woman was also murdered earlier within Witeithie estate. Murders and robberies have become so common here that we rarely walk home at night," lamented one of the residents.

They called on the police to intensify patrols and ensure the area was safe again.
