Eight arrested over touting and suspected mugging.
Eight suspected muggers were early Monday morning arrested by the authorities at Witeithie stage along the busy Thika Superhighway.
In a swoop led by chiefs and administrative police officers from Juja Sub-County at around 7am, the suspects were apprehended on suspicion that they were involved in the frequent attacks and muggings in the area especially at dawn and late in the evenings.
The suspects were booked at Witeithie AP Post before being transferred to Juja Police Station.
According to Komo Location Chief Muchui Muiruri, the suspects were booked for mugging and touting.
recently, there has been public outcry over skyrocketing criminal activities at the busy stop. Last week, Juja Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner Charles Muriithi ordered that all touts at the stage be wiped out.
