Award Winning Resolution Insurance Opens Its Doors In Thika.

Resolution Insurance has opened the doors to its 10^th Kenyan branch in a bid to expand its network and avail its services to more customers in Thika Town and the larger Kiambu County.

Speaking during the opening ceremony at their new regional branch housed in Zuri Centre, 5^th Floor along Kenyatta Highway, Managing Director Alice Mwai noted that the expansion was part of the firm’s growth strategy that is hinged on growing its footprint across all the counties in the country.  She added that it also supported their efforts to enhance penetration while providing affordable insurance products. 

“Resolution Insurance is currently developing new products to meet insurance customers’ tastes that have changed over the years. The opening of the Thika branch, will see more Kenyans access our insurance products and solutions at an affordable price tailor made to suit their needs,” said Mwai.

She noted that their choice of Thika Town was driven by the town’s high Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and its fast growth rate that demanded more insurance services. Mwai said that though the insurance sector in Kenya experienced low penetration of about 3% of the GDP, there were opportunities for growth given the uptake of policies by the expanding middle class and increased public education.

“We have a total of 49 insurance firms and a clientele base of more than 75,000, which equates to about 1.1 insurance company for every one million Kenyans – a similar ratio to Kenya’s banking sector. However, penetration still remains lower than the average of 3.8% in Africa. We are targeting to insure about 150,000 customers by December next year, the more reason we are opening such branches in various counties,” she added.

By end of this year, the company targets to hit the 100,000 mark in the growth of customer base.

The firm recently won an accolade after the being recognised for their outstanding performance in ‘customer satisfaction’ during the Annual Insurance Awards Ceremony.
