A Thika based Businessman and Thika Town 2017 MP Aspirant Mr. Muritu George , (Gathecha Junior) has promised to sponsor FREE stands to 5 youthful Entrepreneurs at the upcoming Thika Sub-County "Kuza Mashinani" Business & Education Expo that is scheduled for the 22nd to 24th April 2016.

Speaking in Makongeni on Thursday, Muritu gave priority to young guys with some handicrafts for sale since those were the ones that faced the biggest obstacle in sales.

“As the demography of the world changes sharply towards a younger workforce, one of the foremost challenges worldwide is attracting, engaging and retaining young talent. There is a generation of people who are destined to leave the industry in the next decade or so. What are we doing now to nurture and grow young talent?” he posed.

Muritu added that one way of stretching gifts in youth was to accord them the opportunity to mentor peers who haven’t grasped an activity as quickly as they have.

Reacting to the sponsorship, the event organiser and a 2017 Kamenu Ward Aspirant Sammy Chege ( MC Sam) said,

“Talent is the innate skill and the capability of handling particular or different activities. Everyone is talented in one way or the other. It is therefore extremely important that we identify and nurture it from the very beginning the same way we would pursue a career through a formal education system.”

He added that the young people come packed with ideas, energy and enthusiasm, and had very high expectations. He said that they therefore required guidance to achieve their potential to the fullest.

The expo will also include rap competitions, individual stage presentations, dance and spoken word. Am proud of the many projects he (Muritu) has partnered with Kamenu Ward people, among them a 10,000-litre water tank at Kenyatta Primary School and an ablution Block at Kiganjo Primary School. ”

He added that all what the youth were looking for was an atmosphere to exploit their potentials.

Those interested in the Sponsored space can SMS their full names and business items to 0721 648 680 or link up with MC Sam on his Facebook timeline.
