Life Skills Oasis Fc Team pose for a group photo after emerging winners of the Inaugural Street Soccer tournament.

Life Skills Oasis Fc emerged winners after topping the table with 10pts, the Kiandutu based team braved the Scorching sun and dusty Kenya Tanning Football field on Thursday to beat their worthy opponents Action for Children in Conflict and in three out of the four matches played.
The inaugural street soccer was organised by Action for Children in Conflict, Legends Group and Life Skills Oasis a Community Based Organisation situated in Kiandutu Slums.

The kids spent the better part of Thursday being taken through some life skills on self-awareness, self-esteem, and drug and substance abuse.

According to Mr. Newton Njoroge, Founder and Director of Life Skills Oasis,"the main purpose of this event was to encourage the kids to engage in sporting activities, this will help them forget their suffering some of them have had to endure,".

"We are aiming at participating in the World Street Soccer tournament  that will be held some time in 2016 in Glasgow, that is why we organised this inaugural event to pave the way for  the big one," said Mr. Newton.

The organisers of this event however wish to call upon well wishers to come out and support their venture, football can be used as a tool for change and that is why I would like to appeal to Thika based soccer teams such as Bidco Fc, Thika United Fc and others to kindly to come to our aid, most of these young boys need to be mentored they have role models in this teams they want them to at least visit them during training and by so doing they will be motivated to even work towards bettering their skills.

The Kiambu County government through Thika Sub County Youth Affairs Officer Madam Gati also pledged to support them and called upon the boys not to shy off from asking from assistance from the government, I will see to it that my office supports this events, we look forward to seeing young talented boys like you are well taken care of, , she said,"

The event was also graced by the reigning Miss Tourism Kiambu County 2015/16 Keziah and Maina from Legends Foundation among other well wishers.
