Kiambu Government To Assist The Family of The Late WaNyambura.

Barely, a week after Thika Town Today highlighted the predicaments of Madam Lisper Wairimu Kimani from Ofafa Estate who had been sick for over two years with no proper medical attention until Hospital Ward MCA Hon. Mwangi Wamwangi and The Department of Social Services Kiambu County came to her rescue, we have received the sad news that she succumbed to her illness on Thursday the 27th February and was laid to rest early this week.

Following her demise, The Kiambu County Chief Officer for Education, Culture and Social Services Madam Anne Gichohi has agreed to look into the welfare of her children who are all of unsound mind as well as that of her ten year old grand-daughter Tabitha Wairimu who is currently a Standard 5 pupil at St. Patricks Primary School.

In an exclusive interview with the Thika Town Today on Friday, the social welfare officer Mr. George Wanyoike said that the county government plans to repair her house which is in a deplorable condition. He added that the grand-daughter will be enrolled in a children’s care facility to ensure her safety as their relatives have not yet been traced

He further re-assured Thika Town Today that they would ensure that the house retained the deceased person's name so as to avoid any cases of fraud involving unscrupulous people who would want to take advantage of the children's fate to swindle off its tenancy from them. Plans were also underway to see how the two would be referred to a mental facility for correction.
