Extension of the Biometric Registration of All Cohorts.

The National Youth Service has extended the deadline for the biometric registration of All Community Youth (Cohorts) engaged under the NYS Youth Empowerment Programme to Sunday the 7th of February 2016.

The exercise that commenced on Thursday the 28th of January 2016 from 8:00 am in all 69 Constituencies where the Programme had been running. It had been scheduled to last for only six days.

This biometric registration is aimed at facilitating easier administration through technology in the light of the expanding nature of the programme. More importantly, it was meant to weed out ghost cohorts (the community youth), ensure integrity of the payroll and make it easier for NYS officers to monitor work attendance through key-in technology once the Youth Empowerment Programme resumes.
All the Community Youth hitherto engaged under the NYS Youth Empowerment Programme and who wish to continue with nation building duties are requested
to present themselves at the designated areas of registration with their National IDs.

Those from Thika Town Constituency are registering at the NYS Camp in Kiandutu. For Gatundu South are doing it at the Gatundu DC's office, Ruiru (Githurai DO's office), Kabete (Muthure Market, Uthiru), Kiambaa (Gachie- Karuri, Banana and Ndenderu, Muchatha) and Githunguri (Mukua PCEA Primary School).
