YOUTHIFUL KIAMBU WOMEN START INITIATIVE TO HELP REFORMED ALCOHOLICS

A section of youthful women from Kiambu County has come up with an initiative to help reform alcohol addicts in the area. The initiative dubbed Kataa Ulevi was formed immediately after the launch of the massive operation on second generation alcohol that saw millions of liters of alcohol destroyed. The women say they are currently working with two private rehabilitation centers to transform the lives of alcohol addicts.

“We go deep down into the villages to comb them and bring them to these facilities. Thank God one owner of one of the rehab facilities has partnered with us and is offering her services for free,” they said.
The women also want the government to help facilitate and build more rehabilitation centers to help the alcoholics.
“If the government would just partner with these private facilities or even build new one, the alcohol menace in Kiambu will be a thing of the past,” they added.
