THIKA TOWN TO BENEFIT FROM 25KM OF ROAD THIS FINANCIAL YEAR

The government will before the end of this financial year complete the construction of over 25km of road within Thika Town Constituency. This was revealed by Thika Town MP, Ms Alice Ng'ang'a today at The Thika Sub-county Stadium when she was presenting riders' licences to bodaboda operators in her constituency.

To ease the traffic snarl ups that have become a common phenomena in the town, Ms. Alice said that there will be two major by-passes that will ensure the jam occasioned at the Gatitu junctions will a thing of the past. She said that the murram road that heads to the former Castle Breweries will be tarmacked to create an exit from the town towards Nairobi. The construction to this exit is scheduled to commence this December.

The other by-pass will exit Garissa Road from Kivulini near Leather Industries, pass through Kisii Estate, Muthaiga in Kiganjo, kiang'ombe, Kiandutu all the way to Castle Breweries. This is intended to ease traffic along Garissa Road especially near Posta and BAT in Makongeni.

There will be another exit to link this main by-pass at Metro-fil through Kiandutu.
