TAKE ADVANTAGE OF UWEZO FUNDS, THIKA TOWN MP ADVICES FORMER ALCOHOLICS.

Thika Town Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a has asked reformed alcoholics in the constituency to apply for UWEZO FUND and venture into business.

Speaking at Blue Post bus terminus in Thika town yesterday, Ng’ang’a said that the UWEZO FUNDS were meant to benefit the youths, women and other marginalized groups in the society and that it would be of great help if reformed alcoholics too, benefited from the same.

She appealed  to Kiambu County Government authorities to help reformed alcoholics acquire jobs, adding it that would be necessary for the government to engage the reformists in its activities to prevent relapse cases.
“The government should help reformed alcoholics get jobs so that they can contribute to development,” she said.

Ms. Nga’ng’a noted that cases of alcohol and substance abuse in Thika Town Constituency had drastically dropped since crackdown on illicit brewers and sellers of second hand generation drinks.
